Declan McManus has taken over as Bangor's interim manager following the resignation of Sean Eardley. The 32-year-old striker will lead the team while the club searches for a permanent successor.
Bangor confirmed the change in a statement on Tuesday. "Bangor City 1876 FC can confirm that Interim First Team Manager Sean Eardley has stepped down from his position," the club said. They added their thanks for his "years of service, commitment and dedication."
McManus, who joined Bangor in January, is the club's current top scorer. He has netted 27 times in 26 appearances, including a treble-winning campaign last season. His playing career includes spells with Aberdeen, Ross County and The New Saints, where he won multiple Welsh Premier League titles and Golden Boot awards.
He will be supported by Martin Jones and Adam Lavender, who continue in their current roles. The trio's first match in charge will be this weekend's Welsh Cup fixture against Mold.
The change comes with Bangor 11th in the Premiership, having taken just two points from their opening seven games. Their recent form reads LDLDL, with a 3-1 defeat at Limavady United last time out where Thomas Mulvenna scored a consolation goal.
Supporters can keep track of the team's progress and upcoming matches on the club's fixtures and standings pages. The search for a new first-team manager is now underway, with the board pledging to keep fans updated via social media.
McManus's immediate focus turns to Saturday's cup tie, before a key Premiership clash at home to Portadown on 19 September.
